Your First 12 Pages
The first 12 pages of your script contain the heart of your story: who the hero is, their circumstance, and the challenge that will occupy them for the remainder of the movie.
In this workshop we'll take a run at drafting these essential pages. Specifically, we'll examine three key elements--the importance of the opening scene, how to establish your hero and his world in the first five pages, and how to dramatically deliver the lynchpin of the inciting incident. We'll also touch on the fundamentals of screenplay formatting and the ways in which scenes interact with one another.
