Writing for Publications:
Publishing Your Op-Ed
Magazines and newspapers big and small, from The New York Times to Boulder Weekly, all use freelance writers for both Letters to the Editor and Opinion Editorials—Op-Eds. Taught by a writer whose work has appeared in more than 50 publications, this course reveals the secrets of publishing your Op-Ed. Topics covered include tailoring pieces to specific columns, writing a perfect pitch letter, contacting the right editors, submitting the work, following up, and getting published! All levels are welcome.
Note: Writers are encouraged to bring ideas, any rough material they may have, and to read up on target publications.
