BWS fiction writer Anita Oswald published her short story, 3 Kisses, in Effervescent Magazine's Winter issue. 

Screenwriter Jennifer Dunbar's short film, Secretly Left-Handed, was selected by the Emerging Filmmakers Project for a big-screen debut at Denver's Bug Theater and featured in the 2017 Colorado Independent Women of Film Festival. Read Dunbar's "Meet the Filmmaker" interview here

BWS founding member Tom Gilboy revised final chapters of his novel at the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference this summer. Tom's novel, The Quiet Underwoods will be submitted to top literary agents in New York in January.  

BWS novelist Jessie Akos has completed final edits for her young adult novel, The Calculus of Change, forthcoming from Clarion Books in early 2018.  

BWS screenwriter Christine Barbour is in post-production for her short film Blow-Out: Near Woman, whose screenplay advanced to the semi-finals at the Austin Film Festival this fall. Stay tuned for Blow-Out's Boulder debut, and the launch of the BWS Film Series. 


TOM GILBOY has been selected as a Contributor to the prestigious Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. Founded in 1926 and boasting a rich literary tradition, Bread Loaf gathers together emerging writers to work closely with a diverse and talented faculty. For 10 days in August, conference attendees experience the intensity and challenge of working under the guidance of notable writers, including MacArthur Fellows, U.S. poets laureate, and recipients of the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award. Congratulations and safe travels, Tom!
