Writing for Publications:
Humor Writing for Publication
The New Yorker, Cracked, McSweeney’s and more all use freelance writers for humor writing. Taught by a writer whose work has appeared in more than 50 publications, this course explores the craft of humor writing and reveals the secrets of breaking in. Topics covered include the different genres of humor writing, tailoring pieces to specific columns, writing a perfect pitch letter, contacting the right editors, and submitting the work, following up, and getting published! Participants will learn the fundamental skills for writing readily publishable humor writing. All levels welcome!
Note: Bring your ideas and anything written and read ten copies of the column or publication in which you want to be published.
