Free Community Workshop
Personal Essay: Short Histories
In this 1-day workshop, we'll explore how a single recurring object can be used to tell a small but potent personal story. We'll begin by reading examples of short-form histories by contemporary essayists, then brainstorm ideas for our own. We’ll choose one to develop further, do some writing during class time, and get feedback for moving forward. Participants will leave with the beginnings of one personal essay and a fertile list for more.
An ongoing series, Boulder Writing Studio's Free Community Workshops offer writers a place to discover their voice, explore new forms, and connect with other writers in a supportive community.
Note: We have space for 8 people in this workshop. To reserve your spot, please register with the link above—it’s free!
