First Page Critique
Come have the first page of your manuscript critiqued by USA Today bestselling author Carter Wilson, who himself has had lots of feedback in his fifteen-year, six-novel career. Being able to seek and accept feedback is critical to the pursuit of a writing career, and this course will provide immediate, actionable, and honest perspectives on your work.
Writers should come prepared with the first five pages of their manuscript, along with a brief pitch for their book or story. The critique will focus on the first 350 words of each manuscript. If time permits, we'll look at additional pages.
This class is ideally suited to writers of thriller/suspense/mystery, but is open to any fiction writer seeking commercial publication.
Class is limited to 10 participants--register soon!
Carter Wilson, a USA Today and #1 Denver Post bestselling author, began his writing career in 2003, when an exercise to ward off boredom during a continuing-education class evolved into a 400-page manuscript. Since then, he has published five award-winning thrillers, including Revelation, The Comfort of Black, and Mister Tender's Girl. His short fiction appears in various publications, most recently the R.L. Stine young-adult anthology Scream and Scream Again. His new novel, The Dead Girl in 2A, is forthcoming from Sourcebooks in 2019. Carter lives with his family in a spooky Victorian house outside of Boulder.
