Characters to Life
Writing convincing characters is hard for the same reason that truly understanding people is hard: because humans are deep and complex, and we only see them in glimpses, from the outside, looking in. Writers of fiction and memoir, in short and long form, must grapple with this most essential skill of breathing animation into the names on the page. This two-hour workshop will explore the techniques of character creation and development, description and dialogue, the insertion of believable people into scenes and stories.
All genres of prose and levels of experience are welcome.
An ongoing free workshop series, Boulder Writes offers writers a place to discover their voice, explore new forms, and connect with other writers in a supportive community.
Note: We have space for 12 people in this workshop. To reserve your spot, please register with the link above.
