Third Person Fiction
Great fiction isn’t only about the events of the story but how the story is told. One of the first big questions for any writer embarking on a new project is “From whose perspective should this story be told?”
In this workshop we’ll specifically explore the third person point of view. The most widely employed, third person is also full of nuanced options, ranging from the omniscient to the objective. Weekly workshops include illustrative readings from great writers, in-class reading and discussion of each other’s work, and exercises designed to help you locate the voice and perspective that will most capably and dramatically bring your story to the page.
